TUNIS (Reuters) – Algerian authorities arrested on Sunday Tunisia’s media mogul and former presidential candidate Nabil Karoui, after he entered Algeria secretly and illegally, Tunisian media mentioned.
Karoui, the proprietor of the Nessma tv channel and head of the Coronary heart of Tunisia political social gathering, the second largest in parliament, was arrested together with his brother Ghazi Karoui, a lawmaker.
After he spent greater than six months in Tunisian custody on cash laundering and tax evasion fees, Karoui was launched on June 15. The courtroom continues to be investigating his case.
Karoui beforehand mentioned he was harmless and that his political opponents have been behind his imprisonment.
